MetLife's Catastrophe Response Vehicles have been deployed and will be on location on the following dates to help assist with the recovery process:

MetLife expects additional insurance locations to be available as well. Policyholders unable to travel to either location can submit their claims by phone or email for assistance.

The multi-policy discount on homeowners insurance with auto is 15%.
The multi-policy discount on auto insurance with home is 8%.

Alternate Homeowners Insurance Carriers:
The MetLife Auto & Home program includes access to alternate homeowners insurance carriers when MetLife is not able to provide desired coverage in coastal areas. If members are denied coverage in these regions, MetLife will offer to refer them to its General Agency. MetLife's General Agency acts as a broker to help members secure coverage through companies that MetLife has vetted and approved.

MetLife currently has several companies in New York State that offer this additional coverage and one company in Florida offering this coverage. These companies are rated an "A" or better but have more lenient underwriting guidelines. MetLife will only refer members to the General Agency if it cannot provide coverage based on underwriting guidelines and the member agrees to the referral. If members refuse the referral, they are free to find alternative coverage on their own.

Please note that payroll or pension deduction will not be available for policies written through MetLife's General Agency.
