NEA COMPLIMENTARY LIFE INSURANCE OFFER:
The NEA Members Insurance Trust offers complimentary life insurance at no extra cost to active, staff, reserve, and life* NEA members, including the following:

-- Up to $1,000 of term life insurance
-- Up to $5,000 of accidental death & dismemberment insurance
-- $50,000 of accidental death & dismemberment insurance for any covered accident that occurs on the job or while serving as an association leader**
-- $150,000 of life insurance for unlawful homicide while on the job

*Life members must be actively employed in the field of education.
**NEA retired members are eligible for the $50,000 of AD&D insurance only while acting on association business in the capacity of an association leader.


AFT ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT OFFER:
Effective January 1, 2022, the AFT has arranged to provide all active, working, and retired members* in good standing with a $5,000 accidental death & dismemberment insurance policy provided at no cost from Federal Insurance Company, a member insurer of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

This benefit will double for AFT members who have an injury or death occurring at the workplace associated with their AFT membership (not including travel to and from work). Retired members are not covered by the double benefit.

*Members who pay a fee for representation but are not full members are not eligible for this benefit.

AFT TRAUMA COUNSELING:
The AFT also provides all active AFT members with up to three months of a trauma counseling benefit at no cost via video, phone, or text after a covered incident.

Whether it's an infectious disease, natural disaster, an assault, or secondary trauma, the AFT will provide you with the resources you need. These AFT-paid trauma counseling sessions with highly-trained therapists are completely private and set up to take advantage of the latest communication technologies. These sessions are available at no cost and available to all active AFT members, including those on leave status.
