NYSUT Board appoints NEW Director of Member Benefits

Jeffrey S. Hartnett named as Director of NYSUT Member Benefits Trust; voted in as CEO of Member Benefits Corporation & Plan Administrator of Member Benefits CMM Insurance Trust.

On January 11, 2019, the NYSUT Board of Directors appointed Jeffrey S. Hartnett as the new Director of the NYSUT Member Benefits Trust. He was subsequently voted in as CEO of the Member Benefits Corporation and Plan Administrator of the Member Benefits CMM Insurance Trust.

Jeffrey replaces Lynette Metz, who retired in November 2018 after 34 years of service to NYSUT Member Benefits and the NYSUT organization.

Jeffrey comes to Member Benefits highly credentialed and with extensive union experience, having worked as a NYSUT Labor Relations Specialist for twelve (12) years and most recently serving as the Staff Director of NYSUT’s Capital District Regional Office. During that time, he has developed lasting relationships with both NYSUT local leaders as well as the NYSUT membership at-large.

In addition, Jeffrey has worked closely with Member Benefits on our various boards for many years, including as Chairperson of the Member Benefits Corporation and a Trustee on both the Member Benefits Trust and Member Benefits CMM Insurance Trust.

He holds a Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School along with a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
