Group Catastrophe Major Medical Plan

The Group Catastrophe Major Medical (CMM) Plan, which is sponsored by the NYSUT Member Benefits Catastrophe Major Medical Insurance Trust, is coverage that supplements a basic health plan. This program is only available for purchase by local associations, their benefit funds and employers, and covers all group participants and their eligible dependents.

This plan is not available to individual members, who can click here for information on the NYSUT Member Benefits Catastrophe Major Medical Insurance Trust-sponsored voluntary Catastrophe Major Medical Plan.

It is important to note that the current Group CMM Plan will be undergoing significant benefit changes. Detailed information regarding forthcoming changes to the CMM Plan effective January 1, 2018 will be sent to all Group CMM participants this fall.

In the meantime, you may want to review the 2018 Group CMM Plan Highlights and 2018 Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) for the Plan effective January 1, 2018 along with our Notice of Privacy Practices.
